Rustic African Chic in the Heart of the Bushveld
KwaThabisile features seven exclusive self-catering units, each a blend of rustic charm and African elegance. Crisp percale linen and feather pillows are complemented by a curated collection of personal mementoes from Alexandra and Kays’ travels across Africa, creating a space that is both stylish and welcoming.
The Antelope, Bushbaby, and Chameleon units are housed in a historic farmhouse built by Italian prisoners of war, while the Duiker, Eland, and Flycatcher units are nestled in the charming old Thatch House. The Giraffe unit is a converted barn, now a quaint open-plan cottage. Across all units, there are 11 bedrooms, comfortably accommodating 11 singles, 22 sharing, or up to 45 guests dormitory-style.
Whether you’re a couple seeking a peaceful weekend escape, a family gathering, or a group wanting exclusive use of the lodge for parties, conferences, or team-building, KwaThabisile offers a serene and private setting. A no-music policy is observed unless the lodge is booked exclusively (minimum 22 guests) to ensure all visitors enjoy the tranquility of the bush.
We can tailor meals to your group’s preferences or recommend nearby accommodations if additional space is required. Guests can enjoy two authentic bomas: the smaller Bushbaby boma for 20 people, and the larger Eland boma for up to 65, where paraffin torches illuminate the night sky — perfect for gathering around the fire, sharing stories, and soaking in the magic of the African bush.
